Vidyapati Nagar
A historical Nirvana asthali of great Maithili poet Vidyapati is only at 10 KM from the town. It is believed to be the place where the renowned poet breathed his last in search of maa Ganga. But due to his failing health, he was not able to reach the banks of Ganges and so the river changed its course to reach him. There is a big temple of lord Shiva as Vidyapati Dham in commemoration of this great poet and devotee of Lord Shiva.

Pandav Asthan (Pand)
At 6 k.m. from here is the famed archaeological site of more than 5000 year's old cultural civilization of Mahabharata era. It is believed that all five brothers Yudhisthir, Bhim, Arjun, Nakul and Sahdev along with mother Kunti & wife Draupadi had stayed here during there 13 years of exile from Hastinapur.
Recently a team of ASI did excavation here and found some earthen ware of Gupta period.
